Welcome to my first blog post
I've finally gotten around to getting my site together and making my first blog post, complete with a generic motivational image from unsplash, so you know I'm serious.
About Me
I'll be adding my full work bio to the home page soon. The quick summary is: I spent a lot of time in public health, science, and education. Now I'm a full stack developer (always hesitant to call myself that... I'll probably have a blog post on that) at a small company in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Post Topics
I will primarily be posting on these topics:
- Coding - Most of my posts will be on my experiences coding, new tools that I am using, and problems I run into (and hopefully their solutions).
- Botany or wildlife pics - I was a botanist in my former career, and I still spend a lot of my spare time outdoors, so I may post some pictures from that now and then.
- Thoughts on higher education - Since I spent so much time there, I am likely to have a few posts about what it is like to work in academia.
Where Else to Find Me
Github: I use Github a lot, but there isn't much to show off there, since most of my repos are private. I hope to contribute to some open source projects soon though.
LinkedIn: I check LinkedIn fairly often and I try to keep my information up-to-date. I'll accept just about any connection request, except from recruiters.
Google Scholar: Although I no longer write and publish scientific research, you can find my work on Google Scholar. There you will find links to my publications.
