I am a Senior Software Engineer at a company in Knoxville, Tennessee. I am the Technical Lead on three projects, using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue (with Quasar) on the frontend, and C#/.NET and SQL Server on the backend.
I also have experience with Nuxt, which I used to build this site, and PostGreSQL, SQLite, Electron, and Python. Over the last year I have been working with Go, and plan to show off some of my work here.
Before moving to programming full time, I spent two decades in science and public health.
My wide range of experiences include: vaccinating sled dogs in remote Alaskan villages, designing septic systems in Virginia, doing botanical fieldwork in Western Australia, and genetically modifying human liver cells. I taught at the college level for over a decade. Outside the classroom, I've spoken to groups ranging from local gardening clubs and elementary school classrooms to rooms of 200+ scientists at international conferences. I still enjoy teaching even if it isn't in classroom, and I've taken that excitement to my current career.
