Staying very busy!

Status Update

I have been at Cadre5 for 3 1/2 years now. In addition to the three projects I had been working on, I started on a new project in late 2024. I've been working almost entirely on it since. The front end includes Vue, of course, but rather than Quasar, we are using PrimeVue. I must say, I am a big fan! This is also the first project I've used Tailwind on. Now I see why it is so popular. The combination of PrimeVue and Tailwind makes for a perfect combination of customization and the ease of using a framework.

Claude Code and Rebuilding furches.dev

We are beginning to use Claude Code in some projects, so I have been spending some time learning it. I thought a perfect opportunity would be to rebuild this site!

I decided to stay with Nuxt for several reasons:

  1. I enjoy working with it!
  2. I get to use Vue every day at work. The only time I've used Nuxt has been on personal projects, such as this site.
  3. Nuxt Content Module is wonderful! I love writing my posts in Markdown, as well as the ease of updating my blog.
  4. I wanted to try out NuxtUI.

While I realize I am only beginning to learn what Claude Code can do, it was pretty impressive for my small project. Nuxt UI has lots of great templates (https://ui.nuxt.com/templates). I chose the Portfolio template and got it up and running. Next, I set up Claude Code. My first command was to simply see if Claude could bring in all of my information and blog posts from my old app. It did an incredible job! After that, all I needed to do was a little of my own customization, as well as removing some sections that weren't needed. I probably spent no more than three hours on the entire thing!

Up Next

Now that I've gotten a chance to use Claude Code, I'm super excited to dig deeper. I didn't even use any customization, so I'm really looking forward to seeing just how powerful of a programming partner Claude can be.
